Embracing Change: How God Uses Seasons to Refine Us

I used to fear change. The end of one season and the beginning of another felt like loss — like something was being taken from me. But over time, I’ve come to see what God is really doing: He’s pruning me, refining me, and preparing me for harvest.
Ecclesiastes 3 says, “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.” Change is not punishment. It is purpose. When leaves fall from the trees, it’s not death — it’s preparation for new growth. The same is true in us.
This fall, God is showing me that refinement doesn’t happen in comfort. It happens in surrender. The habits I used to cling to, the boundaries I used to resist, the people or patterns I thought I needed — He is removing them like dry leaves. It stings at first. But it also creates space for fruit.
Here’s what I’m learning to embrace this season:
🍂 Change is pruning, not punishment.
🌿 Growth requires letting go.
✨ Refinement makes room for new fruit.
Being “naked and unashamed” (Gen. 2:25) means standing in truth, even when it’s uncomfortable. It means allowing God to burn off the fig leaves so that His covering becomes enough. It means trusting that His timing — His seasons — are always perfect.
So as the equinox marks balance, I am choosing balance too. Spirit, mind, and body aligned in surrender. My prayer is that the fruit of this season will be discipline, peace, and joy — the kind only God can cultivate.
✨ This fall, I’m not fearing change. I’m embracing refinement.
